Requirements for Alien Land Holding Licence

Land ownership by foreign nationals in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is governed by the Alien Land Holding Regulations of the Laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Therefore, foreign nationals desirous of acquiring land in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are required to obtain an Alien Land Holding Licence (ALHL) from the government. Applications and are made though the Prime Minister’s office and registered by a local Attorney. All ALHLs are subject to the approval of Cabinet.

Applications are required to provide the following information:

C.V. document to contain:-
– Full Name of Applicant
– Home Address
– Date of Birth
– Place of Birth
– Nationality
– Passport Number and Date and Place of Issue
– Marital Status
– Occupation
– Character Reference
– Other details that may be relevant to the application
Certified letter of reference from your Bankers.
Certified Police Record
Four (4) copies ALHL application
Four (4) copies Survey Plan
Four (4) property valuation
A sale agreement (subject to approval by Cabinet)
Schedule of land title indicating the location and description of land

All ALHL applications are to be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office along with and a (non refundable) application fee of EC$2500.00.

Upon obtaining an Alien Land Holding Licence, the following conditions apply.

⦁ The Alien Land Holding License must be registered at the Lands Registry within 3 months of its grant or it becomes null and void.

⦁ The Deed of Conveyance must be registered at the Lands Registry within 3 months of the grant of the Aliens License.

⦁ If the Aliens License is for land only, the purchaser is required to build a dwelling within 2-5 years of purchase of the land.
